The first images from the Jumanji 3 set have landed, drumming up anticipation for the long awaited sequel to the hit adventure comedy. The brand-new stills show Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (as Dr. Bravestone), Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black reunited in their iconic avatar costumes.
In a recent Instagram post, the movie’s official account teased the return of the crew, writing, “Look who’s on the loose 👀 #JumanjiMovie is coming exclusively to theatres Christmas 2026.” Kevin Hart reposted the shot with his own caption: “Back in action and loving it… I missed you Jumanji … This one will be our biggest!”
Dwayne Johnson also shared a behind-the-scenes video from Los Angeles, revealing that filming had officially begun.
“A little day one of Jumanji excitement. So good to be shooting in Los Angeles,” he said. “I have not shot a film in Los Angeles in … I don’t know when, so it feels so good to bring a production back home to Los Angeles.” The former WWE star also added an emotional Easter egg: his character will wear a necklace containing the dice from the original 1995 Jumanji — a tribute to Robin Williams.
For fans who came in late, the modern Jumanji series began with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) which, under director Jake Kasdan, reinvented the board game as a video game. That was followed by Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019. The series is based off of a children’s book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg.
“Jumanji 3” is set to bring back chaos and mayhem to theaters December 11, 2026.
