In a surprise treat to those who grew up with Disney Channel, Joe Jonas brought out his “Camp Rock” co-star (and, one-time girlfriend) Demi Lovato to perform renditions of their duets from the two films in the series. The nostalgic moment occurred at the Jonas Brothers’ New Jersey concert on Sunday.
Midway through the concert, the band broke away from their usual setlist and started talking about “Camp Rock“, the Disney Channel movie they made at the height of their tween fame in 2008. Joe then began singing “Gotta Find You”, before welcoming Lovato to the stage to perform a medley of “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change A Thing”, their love duets from “Camp Rock” and its sequel, “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam”.
The reunion is a welcome surprise for more than one reason. For the longest time, especially since their public breakup, Joe and Demi were thought to have bad blood with each other. Demi was also struggling with addiction for so long, worsening her relationship with her Disney Channel cohorts. The reunion last Sunday signified a healing moment for fans who have witnessed each party overcome their challenges and mature in their own ways.
