Pixar has debuted the official trailer for Toy Story 5, offering the first extended look at the next chapter in the studio’s flagship franchise. This time, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of Bonnie’s toys must confront a modern obstacle that threatens their place in her world.
The trailer reunites us with our beloved toy gang, with Jessie (voiced by Joan Cusack) now taking on the leadership role following Woody’s departure at the end of the previous film. The cowgirl rallies Buzz and the rest of the gang when Bonnie becomes fixated on a new frog-shaped tablet named Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee. The device introduces games and interactive distractions that pull Bonnie away from traditional playtime – hindering the toys’ attempt to help her make friends.
As tensions rise, Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) and Woody (Tom Hanks) reunite with their friends to square off with Lilypad, with the toys voicing their fear of facing extinction once again. Every installment, these playthings just can’t seem to catch a break!
Directed by Andrew Stanton and co-directed by Kenna Harris, the film is reportedly going to place Jessie at the forefront of the story for the first time – with Emily, her first owner, set to make a return.
The film also features new characters voiced by Craig Robinson and Conan O’Brien.
Toy Story 5 is set to open in theaters on June 19, 2026.
