758views

Iga Swiatek defeated Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0  in the final match of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. Swiatek took less than one hour to hold off Anisimova in a business-as-usual match between the two. With this win, Iga Swiatek has become the first woman from Poland to ever win Wimbledon.

“It seems super surreal. I’m just proud of myself because, yeah, who would have expected that? I feel like tennis keeps surprising me, and I keep surprising myself,” said Iga in a post-match interview on court.

Iga Swiatek received the Venus Rosewater Dish from Princess Catherine.

“I don’t remember really because I was too overwhelmed. I didn’t want to do any faux pas. I wanted to behave well,” admitted Iga about her conversation with the Princess of Wales.
