The Boy Who Lived is ready to live another magical life. HBO just released the first trailer to the highly anticipated Harry Potter series reboot, due out Christmas 2026. See the trailer below!

The trailer offers first glimpses of the new Golden Trio in action: Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. It takes us through iconic moments from the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, on which the first season will be based on. Scores of iconic characters that will accompany Harry’s journey in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are introduced as well – from Albus Dumbledore played by John Lithgow, Rubeus Hagrid played by Nick Frost, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, to Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.

Each season of the forthcoming series – spearheaded by Francesca Gardiner and directed by Mark Mylod – is envisioned to adapt one book from J.K. Rowling’s phenomenal fantasy series. If you don’t already know: the novels follow the titular orphan boy who discovers he’s a wizard bound for a magical school and a destiny to defeat the tyrannical Lord Voldemort. The serial format has raised considerable expectations from Potterheads hoping the longer duration can cover more grounds that the Daniel Radcliffe films couldn’t.
