Met Gala, the biggest fashion event of the year, is set to take place in its usual spot on the first Monday in May – May 5, this year. Themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, this year’s bash will celebrate black dandy fashion – which promises tons of finely tailored costumes from its A-list invitees.
Speaking of A-list, we’ve got confirmations of the big names set to climb the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City on Monday.
This year’s co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharell Williams, as well as honorary chair LeBron James were the first confirmed attendants, obviously. Now, more names have RSVP-ed to the glamorous charity event.
Hailey Bieber, for months overshadowed by news of husband Justin’s public outbursts, will be in the spotlight once again as she’s set to return to the gala after a two-year absence. The Rhode founder has been seen out and about on the streets of New York channeling Anna Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief and Met Gala head honcho.
Legendary artists Madonna, Diana Ross, and Stevie Wonder are on this year’s guest lists as well. These eternal style icons will surely bring something iconic to the red carpet.
Also lighting up the steps of the gala are Oscar caliber stars including Angela Bassett and Demi Moore.
We also cannot forget the musicians and models. This year, that includes Doechii, Shakira, Lizzo, Mary J. Blige, and models Amelia Gray and Ashley Graham.
And of course, no Met Gala is complete without the Queen herself: Zendaya. She and longtime stylist Law Roach will both attend, but doing their own (separate) thing, per the stylist.
