The long-awaited return of Euphoria is finally in sight, and the newly released Season 3 trailer lays out a far more dangerous road ahead for Rue Bennett and her circle, with a five-year time jump taking them away from high school drama and into adulthood chaos.
According to HBO’s official synopsis, the new season follows Rue and her peers as they navigate adulthood, confronting questions of faith, identity and consequence while attempting to move forward from the chaos of their pasts. The story picks up after a five-year time jump, shifting the characters out of high school and into lives shaped by the choices they made as teenagers.
The trailer centers heavily on Rue, played by Zendaya, who claims to be free of her drug problems, yet still facing troubles related to her past. The trailer hints at unresolved business with the criminal world tied to Laurie, the drug dealer introduced in Season 2, with references to drug-related debts and looming danger. The stakes surrounding her addiction are portrayed as more severe, with consequences extending beyond her immediate circle.
Elsewhere, the returning ensemble — including Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow — are shown in vastly different stages of life. Cassie and Nate appear to be getting married, but their relationship remains as unstable as ever. Meanwhile, Jules, Maddy and Lexi each face their own transitions into adulthood, from career ambitions to personal reinvention. The trailer also includes Eric Dane in one of his final on-screen appearances before his death earlier this year, adding an additional layer of melancholy around the season.
Created by Sam Levinson, the series continues to explore addiction, trauma and identity, now through a lens shaped by adulthood rather than adolescence.
Euphoria Season 3 premieres April 12, 2026, on HBO and Max.
