On September 12, British singer Ed Sheeran released his eighth full album “Play”. The album is the first of a planned five-album series themed to electronic music buttons (Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, and Stop to follow). Supporting the album, the Grammy-winning musician dropped five singles: “Azizam”, “Old Phone”, “Sapphire”, “A Little More”, and “Camera”.
The album marks Sheeran’s return to “big pop” after releasing two acoustic albums in 2023.
Music video for “Camera” was released concurrently with the album. Featuring “Bridgerton” actress Phoebe Dynevor, the video depicts a relationship through a series of phone camera recordings. In typical Sheeran fashion, it’s both sweet and a little melancholic.
The album “Play” was released ahead of Sheeran’s upcoming ”Loop Tour“, which would take him across Europe and Oceania. The tour is set to begin in December 2025.
