Back one final time to banish demonic intervention, “The Conjuring: Last Rites” just released a full trailer teasing the upcoming horror movie. Starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal investigator couple Lorraine and Ed Warren, the film will cover yet another haunting case based on the true story of the real spouse that inspired the characters.
The film will mark the conclusion of Ed and Lorraine’s tales on the big screen, which began with 2013’s “The Conjuring.” It has since spawned a lucrative franchise that includes two direct sequels and spinoffs centering on possessed doll Annabelle and Valak the Nun.
“The Conjuring: Last Rites” takes place in 1986 and follows the Warrens as they “take on one last terrifying case involving mysterious entities they must confront.” Michael Chaves directed the film from a script written by Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. The movie also stars Ben Hardy, Beau Gadsdon, Madison Lawlor, and John Brotherton. It hit theaters September 5, 2025.
