Just a few days into the ongoing sexual assault trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs, there are already plenty of disturbing accusations leveled against the rapper by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
Taking the stand while heavily pregnant, the 38-year-old singer detailed how Diddy would force her to engage in his infamous “freak-off” sex parties during the course of their relationship. The pair dated from 2007 to 2018.
Among the most damning accusations, the “Me & U” singer testified regarding the assault she suffered in Diddy’s hands in a leaked hotel surveillance footage from 2016. Ventura said that the altercation occurred after she tried to leave a “freak off” that got so “violent” before it was over.
Realizing she would incur the Bad Boy founder’s wrath, Ventura tried to sneak out but got caught in the hallway of the hotel. As a result of the hotel beating, Ventura suffered a swollen lip and a black eye. She further claimed that the rapper beat her in similar manner “too many (times) to count.”
Not only violence, Diddy also allegedly used coercion to keep Ventura in line. She said that he threatened to ruin her by distributing her “freak off” tapes if she tried to leave or misbehaved, keeping the singer trapped in fear for years. Eventually, she admitted, the “freak offs” turned into a job that she would be in charge of arranging. That included finding escorts and facilitating their travels.
“I can’t carry this anymore,” she said when asked why she decided to testify now. “I can’t carry the shame, the guilt, the way we – the way I was guided to treat people like they were disposable. What’s right is right, what’s wrong is wrong. I’m here to do the right thing.”
