Disney’s TV movie juggernaut Descendants is prepping for its fifth installment, adding children of iconic Disney characters from Robin Hood, The Princess and the Frog, and Peter Pan to its expansive fairytale world. The film will be a direct sequel to 2024’s Descendants: The Rise of Red, itself a spinoff of the original trilogy starring Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, and Cameron Boyce.
The Rise of Red centered around Red (the daughter of Alice in Wonderland’s Queen of Hearts) and Chloe Charming (Cinderella and Prince Charming’s daughter) as they attempt to set aside their animosity to save Auradon Prep from Queen of Hearts’ coup. Descendants 5 will continue from where The Rise of Red left off.
The movie has now announced several key additions to the cast. Joel Oulette will play Robbie Hood, the son of Robin Hood. Zavien Garrett will portray Felix, son of The Princess and Frog’s Dr. Facilier, while Ryan McEwan and Dayton Paradis will play the twin sons of Peter Pan villain Smee, Squirmy and Squeaky.
Kimmy Gatewood will take over directing duties from Jennifer Phang with a script by Tamara Chestna, Dan Frey, and Ru Sommer. Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh return as executive producers.
