Dakota Johnson Will Make Her Directorial Debut With ‘A Tree Is Blue’

Starring Charli XCX, Jessica Alba, and Vanessa Burghardt, ‘A Tree Is Blue’ is the feature film in which Dakota Johnson will make her directorial debut and also serve as a producer through TeaTime Pictures, her production company alongside Ro Donnelly.

A coming-of-age drama, the film is set to shoot in Los Angeles next month, according to a casting call.

The screenplay was written by Burghardt, who starred as Johnson’s daughter in ‘Cha Cha Real Smooth’. 

But what is the film about? It follows a young woman on the autism spectrum who breaks free from her overprotective yet loving mother in search of freedom, friendship, and a little chaos during the summer after high school graduation.
