Following rumors of a breakup with Chris Martin last week, Dakota Johnson seemingly put the speculation to rest when she flashed her engagement ring while out in Malibu.
Spotted while hanging out with her pals The Bear actor Jeremy Allen White and Blake Lee, the Fifty Shades of Grey star, decked in an oversized coat and casual jeans, very pointedly lifted the enormous emerald ring on her left finger for the awaiting photographers surrounding her. Soon after, her rep released a statement that the couple are “happily together.”
Johnson and the Coldplay frontman have been together since 2017. The two first sparked engagement rumors in 2020 when Johnson was seen wearing the aforementioned emerald ring. It was not until March 2024 that they finally confirmed they were engaged. According to some sources, however, the two are in “no rush to get married.”
Martin was previously married to “Iron Man” actress Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he shares two kids, Apple, 20, and Moses, 18. After the couple’s “conscious uncoupling” in 2014, Martin was linked to actresses Annabelle Wallis and Jennifer Lawrence. Meanwhile, Johnson dated musicians Noah Gersh and then Matthew Hitt from Welsh rock band Drowners prior to seeing Martin.
Though they keep details of their relationships private, the couple are often spotted being there for each other. Johnson and Martin went on vacation with Paltrow and her second husband Brad Falchuk in the Hamptons. Johnson also clicked an adorable picture with her fiance’s ex-wife, which Paltrow herself shared on Instagram. Last June, the “Madame Web” actress was also in Glastonbury to support her beau’s headlining act in the music festival.
