Coco Gauff Defeats Elina Svitolina to Advance to Round 4 of US Open 2024

Coco Gauff defeated Elina Svitolina 3-6, 6-3, 6-3  in the third round of the US Open and advanced to the fourth round. Gauff took almost two hours to hold off Svitolina in a difficult and thrilling match.

“I knew today was going to be a tough match; every time I play Elina, she’s a fighter. But I served much better than the last match, except for that last game. Thankfully I was able to come back. [Arthur Ashe Stadium] always brings the energy and I really appreciate you guys,” said Coco Gauff in a post-match interview.

Coco Gauff will face fellow American Emma Navarro on Sunday for a place in the quarterfinals.
