After the release of the soundtrack “Wuthering Heights,” Charli XCX returned with a new era.
Last Friday, Charli released her newest single “Rock Music”, written by herself, A.G. Cook and Finn Keane in all digital platforms. The song was also produced by them. With over 2 million streams, “Rock Music” was Charli xcx’s biggest debut on Spotify, surpassing the huge numbers previously achieved with the release of the album “Brat”.
For Vogue, Charli said last month she’s “doing our version of analogue, which is so silly and funny”, she explains “but putting it through our lens, and making sure that nothing felt too macho, was important… For me, it’s fun to flip the form. We know there’s gonna be people who are bothered by it, but that’s fine.”
The singer’s eighth album doesn’t yet have a release date, but fans can expect something totally innovative, just like all of Charli’s musical releases.
