While some celebs partied hard for three days at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s Venice wedding, several others weren’t at all impressed. Here’s what has been said about the extravagant wedding by Tinseltown stars.
Charlize Theron
Speaking at her fifth annual Block Party for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project on Saturday, the Oscar winner roasted the over-the-top wedding during her speech.
“I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding,” she said while addressing the crowd at the Universal Studios backlot in Los Angeles.
She then added with a pointed jab: “But that’s OK because they suck and we’re cool.”
Katie Couric
The legendary journalist and presenter had really sharp words to say about the bride’s choice of wedding gown.
“Apparently tacky is back,” she commented on a Vogue pictorial of Sanchez in her Dolce & Gabbana dress.
Rosie O’ Donnell
“It turned my stomach. Seeing all these billionaires. Gathering in the gross excess of it all. The show of it,” the comedian and TV host wrote.
Her criticism also extended to fellow TV host, Oprah Winfrey, who was among the guests. “Is Oprah friends with Jeff Bezos? Really – how is that possible? He treats his employees with disdain. By any metric he is not a nice man.”
Megyn Kelly
In her recent SiriusXM show, the outspoken political commentator compared Bezos to “a walking p*nis” when the subject of his wedding came up.
“He does look a little too taut and it does give p*nis vibes. I’m not gonna lie, it’s not a good look for him,” she said as the show brought out a photo of the Amazon founder.
Previously, Kelly also disparaged the wedding’s star-studded guest list.
“You’re literally one of the richest men in the world, so you’d make sure that you only invite the people who love you for you, you know, the people who were there before you built Amazon…What matters to them is that it’s a star-studded event, not that they have dear friends who love them, standing up for them, when they take a sacred vow,” the former Fox News anchor remarked.
Olivia Munn
While the others directed their disdain head on, the actress shaded the couple by heaping praise on Bezos’ ex-wife MacKenzie Scott instead.
After listing out Scott’s philanthropic works over the years, Munn called her “just beautiful inside and out!” before closing out with the pointed “imagine what our world would be like if all billionaires were like this!”
