Iga Swiatek won the WTA Finals in Cancun (Mexico) on 6 November with the victory over Jessica Pegula (6-1, 6-0). With the win in the final tennis tournament of the year, 22-old tennis player from Poland reclaimed the World No. 1 ranking which she lost mid-September after the unexpected defeat in the 4th round of the US Open against Jelena Ostapenko.

Coco Gauff continued her excellent preparation for this month’s US Open with victory at the Western & Southern Open on Sunday. The 19-year-old overcame Karolína Muchová 6-3 6-4 in the final having already beaten world No. 1 Iga Świątek in the semifinals.
