In a surprise livestream, K-Pop supergroup BTS united to deliver the announcement of a new album and world tour, set to begin next year.
This will mark their full-group comeback after 3 years. The group’s last studio album was 2020’s “Be”, while they last toured in 2022 on the “Permission to Dance on Stage” tour.
On Tuesday, all seven members surprised fans by holding a livestream together for the first time since 2022. Bringing back their warm camaraderie and playful chatters, the group delighted fans who have been clamoring for a reunion since the members went off to complete their mandatory military services.
Leader RM delivered the news that BTS would begin working on the new album starting this July.
The livestream also told fans that they can expect a Spring 2026 release.
“Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started,” the band said.
“We’re also planning a world tour alongside the album. We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are,” they added.
Since their 2013 debut, BTS has grown to become the biggest K-Pop artists in history in terms of sales and tour attendance. They have been credited with bringing K-Pop to mainstream recognition with a strong fandom following known as ARMY.
