BTS officially dives back into the spotlight with a nautical-themed “SWIM” music video – featuring Riverdale star Lili Reinhart.
“SWIM” is the title track from their long-awaited album ARIRANG. Released on March 20, the visual unfolds like a short film, blending sweeping sea imagery with introspective storytelling.
Directed with a distinctly cinematic approach, Reinhart plays a central figure navigating a mysterious journey that begins in a museum before shifting to a massive ship at sea. Amid scenes of crashing waves, open water and expansive horizons, the seven-member group delivers an emotionally-charged song about vulnerability and new beginnings.
“SWIM” itself is described as a mellow trap-pop track that uses water as a metaphor for love and life’s unpredictable path. BTS have framed the song as part of a broader narrative tied to ARIRANG, an album rooted in Korean cultural identity while pushing their global sound forward.
The release also anchors a larger comeback rollout. BTS reunited as a full group following military service and kicked off promotions with “BTS The Comeback Live | ARIRANG,” a massive showcase at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, streamed worldwide on Netflix. The event reportedly draws a huge influx of tourism to the city, prompting citywide special measures to be put in place.
Stateside, the group is set to continue promotions with a high-profile appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, marking their return to U.S. television after years away.
With a full-scale comeback rollout in progress, BTS is reclaiming their spot as the biggest music group in the world whose reach extends beyond their K-Pop identity.
