BTS continues its chart dominance as “Arirang” secures a second consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, extending the group’s latest comeback milestone and making history as the first K-Pop act to top the chart two weeks in a row.
According to Billboard, the album earned 187,000 album-equivalent units in its second tracking week, powered largely by 114,000 in pure album sales, alongside streaming and track activity. The figure represents a 71% drop from its blockbuster debut frame, where Arirang opened with 641,000 units — the biggest week of 2026 so far.
Released on March 20, the album serves as BTS’ first full-group studio effort following their military hiatus, a period that paused collective activities for nearly four years. The project blends pop and hip-hop influences with nods to traditional Korean elements, including references to the folk song “Arirang,” while featuring contributions from international producers such as Diplo and Ryan Tedder.
The second week atop the chart also delivers a historic benchmark: “Arirang” becomes the first K-pop album to spend two consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The achievement adds to BTS’ growing tally of chart leaders, with the group now holding seven No. 1 albums on the tally.
The album’s momentum extends beyond albums. Lead single “Swim” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while all 14 tracks from the record made a strong showing across global streaming charts upon release. On its second week, the track dips to No. 2, but otherwise shows remarkable hold both in the States and elsewhere in the world.
Comprised of members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, the band’s return has been closely watched across the industry. With sustained sales and streaming activity, “Arirang” continues to perform as one of the year’s biggest releases, maintaining BTS’ long-running presence at the top tier of the global music market.
