Pop diva Britney Spears was caught behaving erratically during a flight on Thursday. The 42 year old singer was caught on camera lighting a cigarette while drinking, alarming the flight attendants at the charter jet. The singer was flying from Cabo, Mexico to LAX.
Reportedly, the “Toxic” singer caused a huge scene upon being requested to stop, so much so that authorities were called upon the plane’s landing. She was given a stern warning but was allowed to go shortly after.
In response to the viral incident, the singer took to Instagram to explain her side of the story. In a lengthy caption, the songstress detailed what went down, suggesting she thought her flight allowed smoking because “the drink holders were on outside of seat” and called the situation “incredibly funny.”
She went on to ramble about feeling “clear and smart” after drinking vodka for the first time and suddenly wanting to light a cig.
“My friend put it in my mouth and lit 🔥 it up for me so I was like OH SO THIS IS A PLANE WHERE YOU CAN SMOKE !!!” she wrote.
Acknowledging the row with the flight attendants, Spears put out an apology but complained about being seated at the back of the plane. She also chided the flight crew for calling the authorities on her.
The singer’s latest behavior sparks concern about her mental wellbeing. Once heavily supported to be free from conservatorship, many now worry that Spears might be needing the supervision more than ever.
