Blake Lively just notched a significant win in her ongoing legal battle against Justin Baldoni. The Gossip Girl star’s request to keep certain discoveries about the case strictly for “attorneys’ eyes only” has just been granted by judges. Lively submitted the petition last month after Baldoni’s camp launched a website containing video and text message evidence to debunk her toxic workplace allegations.
According to Lively’s attorney, Meryl Governski, the category of information that needs to be kept between lawyers include medical information, trade secrets, security measures and “personal and intimate conversations with unrelated third parties.” The latter, the lawyer stressed, must be kept out of the public eye because, while the public relations value would be high, the evidentiary value would be “virtually nonexistent.” Neither Lively nor Baldoni would have access to the information either.
In response, Baldoni’s legal team accused Lively of trying “to shield, from public view, documents and information exchanged herein” for the sake of her reputation.
“Given how actively the Lively Parties have publicized and litigated Ms. Lively’s claims in the media, we are surprised to now learn how vehemently she wants to prevent the public from accessing material and relevant evidence,” they wrote to the judge.
The first trial date is set for May 29, 2026.
