The highly anticipated trailer for James Cameron’s Avatar sequel finally drops, giving audiences a taste of what’s to come in Pandora. Screened exclusively before “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, footage from the trailer has leaked online, though Disney is working very hard to curb it. Starring Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington, Avatar: Fire & Ash will follow the Sully family as they’re trapped in the war brewing between the fire and water clans of Pandora.
The epic trailer showcases the visual splendor of Cameron’s fantasy realm, which is expanding into more territories, bringing with it high stake dangers. Like the previous two films, the sumptuous spectacles beckon audiences to watch it on the biggest screens possible.
The trailer transports viewers back to the world of Pandora, unveiling two new Na’vi factions: the Wind Traders and the fiery, aggressive Ash People. The preview features Jake Sully (Worthington), Neytiri (Saldana), and their Na’vi children locked in high-stakes aerial combat against the Ash People. Making a dramatic return is Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), now adorned with striking war paint in white, black, and red—hinting at a possible alliance with this fiery clan. In a tense moment, the villainous Varang (Oona Chaplin) tells a captured Kiri (Sigourney Weaver), “Your goddess has no dominion here.” Meanwhile, Jake grimly tells Neytiri, “We cannot live like this,” before being captured and marched before the forces occupying Pandora. Young Spider (Jack Champion) also appears frequently in peril throughout the footage.
Read the film’s synopsis: “Jake and Neytiri’s family grapples with grief after Neteyam’s death, encountering a new, aggressive Na’vi tribe, the Ash People, who are led by the fiery Varang, as the conflict on Pandora escalates and a new moral focus emerges.”
Avatar: Fire & Ash hits theaters December 19, 2025.
