Anna Kendrick has sparked another rumor of feud with Blake Lively thanks to a fan video captured during the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival last week.
While greeting fans during the red carpet event of their movie Another Simple Favor, sequel to 2018’s A Simple Favor, Anna got asked about what it was like working with Blake again.
To that, the Pitch Perfect star replied with a nonchalant “oh, you know,” before walking off to take selfies with fans.
Blake, too, received the same question about Anna and gave a more spirited response.
“Oh, it’s the best!” she said on the red carpet. “I’m so happy to be here.”
The difference in their answers promptly reignited a longtime rumor that the two stars of the Paul Feig-directed film did not get along. In January, Feig squashed rumors that the film was being shelved indefinitely due to Blake’s ongoing It Ends With Us legal battle and alleged rift with Anna.
“Sorry. The movie is finished and coming out soon. Don’t believe anything you read on social media these days,” the director wrote on X at the time.
It’s clear that Blake’s It Ends With Us showdown with Justin Baldoni has continued to shadow the press round for her new movie. This could explain her co-star’s reluctance to answer all sorts of things that could be linked to the issue.
When asked by Variety about how her film is “being impacted by everything going on in the world”, clearly referencing the Lively-Baldoni feud, Anna gave a wry response, saying: “Why? What happened? I did ayahuasca and the last year of my life has been gone. But I heard the movie’s amazing.”
